Ahoy! I've moved our list off dreamhost since they are ending support for mailman. I setup a dedicated mailman3 server with postorius front end and hyperkitty for archives. Exim as the MTA. You can manage your subscription here https://lists.coactcloud.com/mailman3/postorius/lists/nmglug.lists.nmglug.o… Going forward it would be best to use the full email address for the list nmglug(a)lists.nmglug.org Although, nmglug(a)nmglug.org should continue to work. Hopefully the anti-spam protocols allow for smooth delivery to everyone's inbox. Let me know if you see any problems! Jason

LPIC study group.

Hi all, I am not certain that anyone has posted this here before, but there is a Tuesday study group that meets in Albuquerque at Quelab focused on the LPIC-1 tests. We have been meeting for about a year and a half, working through online video lessons, which turns into discussions when needed. It is a lively group of about 5-6. Hello! 👋🙂 First time using a mailing list, ha! I just moved to Albuquerque in the last few weeks, and I wanted to check out your group. I've been using Linux as my daily driver for a few years, and I'd like to help more people use it. I tried to join yesterday's meeting through the Jitsi link, but no one let me in. Any solutions welcome

Good morning all! I am looking for some guidance/advice/help. My wife created a libreoffice document and when she went back to open it it opened but with a dialog box offering "force quit" or "wait". Waiting just hung. Force quit dropped back to the desktop. In an effort to fix this problem, I did a quick internet search and tried the following: killall soffice.bin nothing happened... next rm -rf~/.config/libreoffice The second command I ran twice as I left a space in front of the .config I next opened libreoffice which took its time. It opened but showed no files available to open. I restarted and it welcomed me to ubuntu like a new install. Now appears there are no files on the disk. As you might imagine, this constitutes a catastrophic fail on my part. Any thoughts, advice, or assistance would be much appreciated. Thanks. Mike

Yeah, uses the LoRa wireless communication. Kinda like WiFi, but much further range, though much slower data rate. People have pushed the link range up to 200 miles in very special cases. MeshCore utilizes strong encryption for messages. Meshtastic is apparently very simple to set up, though not as resilient as MeshCore. Farmers have used LoRa for weather stations and irrigation systems for years. Very VERY low power, very very long range. People put these things in trees and have that act as a hub to push another 20-30 miles out.
