Dear nmglug folk, As you know a few times/year I teach kids courses on programming in python on gnu/linux systems. I will be teaching the next one with jitsi in late September. I hope you can get the word out. This course is the prerequisite to many good things for those who resonate with it, including ongoing mini-courses on various applications of programming and research internships at the Institute for Computing in Research and in Los Alamos. So with Jared’s announcement for doing the pihole setup and training on Sept 26th. We are giving away five raspberry pi 3 to people or kids who want to learn Linux / programming or hardware hacking. The kits include the rpi3, 16 GB microsd, case, power supply, and (optional) a .96” oled lcd to learn i2c python by example. Might be wondering why there are 7 shown. Two are accounted for. Look forward to seeing some of you on the 26th.

zoom, jitsi, hippa

Hi. I would prefer using Jitsi on Debian 10, however, I require an application meeting HIPPA compliance for which zoom certifies, unfortunately, for which jitsi does not. issue: Iooking at the attachment information utilizing the suggested options, seem not to work, What application woud I use to open the program, With laptop using Debian 10, firefox, CimmanonThe problem seems to exist, whether i try opening thru the application or thru the browser. thanks

Not a gnulinux problem but...

I apologize for this being a non gnulinux problem but I don't know what else to do. My Roku is not working. The device starts but I cannot connect to any app. Checking setting shows my network is fine but no download speed, 0. I cannot connect to any roku website on my laptop or phone. I cannot contact customer support. It's as if my modem is choking on all roku. Since I can't get any web help I thought that I'd throw this out there and hope. I really appreciate any help. Fellow NMGLUGers, The monthly Albuquerque Linux User Group will meet tomorrow, August 4th 2020 at 6:00 pm. If you are going to use a smartphone, you will want to install the Jitsi-meet app, and then set the Jitsi-meet server to live.abqlug.com. If you would like more information on how to attend the meetup, visit: https://www.abqlug.com/attendee/ If you're having issues using a microphone or camera, you might have to make sure that WebRTC is enabled in your browser if you have "locked down" your browser. The meetup will likely end around 8pm. NOTE: On September 26th, ABQLUG will host a (virtual) event. We plan on helping anyone interested in setting up a Raspberry Pi to use Pi Hole. We should have material for both novices and experts that will be available ahead of the event. To celebrate correctly, ABQLUG will be giving five FREE Raspberry Pi 3s.
