slowly working through the suggestions you guys have sent.the terminal and .thunderbird paths match. .mozilla and .thunderbird to not appear in home folder until I click on mail.that is as far as I have gotten.seems it should work sinch they match,I guess I am missing the obvious? a
Terminal: uest-2I0FoS@desktop:~$ cd .thunderbird/ guest-2I0FoS@desktop:~/.thunderbird$ cat profiles.ini [General] StartWithLastProfile=1
[Profile0] Name=default IsRelative=1 Path=j7hf0xil.default
.thunderbird/: /tmp/guest-2I0FoS/.thunderbird/j7hf0xil.default
I'm not sure if this has been pointed out or not and I just missed it but it looks to me like you are using a temporary guest account whose files get wiped each time you log out and log back in. If that's the case, you'll need to create a real user account and use that instead. It looks like your user name is guest-2I0FoS in the config file you sent above. The next time you log in, your user name will likely be something different. What is the output of this command issued in a terminal:
$ whoami
Then reboot and log back in and try it again:
$ whoami
