We utilize laptops, custom software, sound sculptures, circuit bending, custom electronics and interactive devices to produce unique sonic worlds. Transducers is: Philip Mantione, Martin Back, Frank Rolla, Christian Pinnock and James Brody. Panaiotis is a composer and singer of traditional and computer-assisted music whose works and performances have enjoyed worldwide distribution. Panaiotis co-founded the Deep Listening Band with Pauline Oliveros and Stuart Demster and has been a resident artist at Atlantic Center for the Arts, the Theater School for New Dance Development and STEIM in Amsterdam, The Banff Centre in Alberta Canada, and The Center for New Music and Audio Technology at UC Berkeley. He is currently a research assistant professor of Music and of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of New Mexico, currently collaborating in the creation of multimedia performances incorporating dance and video. [image: http://highmayhem.org/wp-content/themes/atahualpa/images/logo.png] High Mayhem Emerging Arts 2811 Siler Lane Santa Fe, NM 87505 www.highmayhem.org *Saturday, February 13, 6 pm - midnight* *Benefit for Zimbabwe Nkenya * *Donation at the door* On November 5th, 2009, the acclaimed musician and former KUNM-FM deejay Zimbabwe Nkenya suffered a debilitating stroke. The stroke affected his ability to speak and write, and has caused temporary paralysis of his right side. Doctors at the Veteran's Hospital in St. Louis think Zimbabwe has a good chance of recovery, but it will mean several months of intense speech therapy and physical therapy. In the past few weeks, Zimbabwe's doctors have also discovered some other health issues which will require surgery to repair. His wife, Deborah Mashibini, has had to put her graduate studies on hold to help him through this incredibly difficult time. This event is being held to raise funds to help assist Zimbabwe and Deborah. Proceeds will go towards medical bills as well as towards a special instrument that can be played with one hand by Zimbabwe, giving him a new outlet to express and share his creative force.
