Hi NMGLUG folks, My business colleagues want to do video conference calls with me on zoom, from https://zoom.us/ I'm wondering if this is a program which has been reviewed by the Linux community, and if it has been approved as safe to use on Debian. I welcome your responses. LeRoy -- I am the Love of God, no matter what. LeRoy Diener 213-LEROYIZ 213-537-6949 www.leroydiener.com/
No, it's proprietary and 'freemium' (only paid versions have the more useful features). You'll have to make your own judgment call around security; here are their claims on that: https://zoom.us/docs/doc/Zoom-Security-White-Paper.pdf Considering that there are free video-sharing applications, it is not like this service is not without replacement, so it's your call (I would go with Riot or something ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
LeRoy, set up a jitsi instance https://jitsi.org/downloads/ Best bet ... or Nextcloud Talk (more involved) On 8/14/19 3:16 PM, LeRoy Diener wrote:
