Speaking of dreamhost, they have wonderfully implemented lets encrypt!! As usual with dreamhost, its seamless and trivial to use. For those running their own web servers, the lets encrypt folks have made the process almost too easy (for debian users). https://letsencrypt.org/howitworks/ ./letsencrypt-auto --apache On debian, this will verify your domain, issue a cert, install it on your server and enable it using /etc/apache2/sites-enabled Now, lets encrypt everything!
