Our mission has always been to challenge the homogenizing effect of pop-culture groupthink by providing opportunities for and fostering collaborations with underrepresented “experimental” artists. This November will be the final year for our annual festival/series at the Siler Lane space, after which we will focus on going back underground with pirate video show broadcasts, a weekly radio show on SomaFM in the Bay Area (http://somafm.com/, which began Oct 9), pop-up shows at other locations, and continuing to operate as a record label and produce cutting edge albums (CDs and digital downloads). Celebrate the new transition for High Mayhem at the final Fall Series at the Siler Lane space, taking place Saturdays November 1, 8, 15, and 22. *November 8 <http://highmayhem.org/event-details/fall-series-night-2-2/>* *Axle Contemporary <http://www.axleart.com/index/Home.html>* Housed in the back of a custom retrofitted 1970 aluminum stepvan, Axle Contemporary is an art gallery on wheels. Their 6' x 10' exhibition space features high wood ceilings, exposed beams, track lighting and a magnetically based system for displaying unframed works on paper. Axle Contemporary was founded in 2010 by artists Matthew Chase-Daniel and Jerry Wellman, as a collaborative work of art, and an innovative vehicle for arts distribution. It has since grown beyond the confines of the mobile exhibition space, and also includes book publishing, and alternative methods of creation and dissemination of contemporary arts in the public sphere. *Octaveleven <https://www.facebook.com/pages/OCTAVELEVEN/143564433818> * electro, synth pop, progrock. The Horned God is a Cosplay band, based on the comic book masterpiece by Pat Mills, and Simon Bisley, Slaine: The Horned God.Comic book writer Pat Mills brought the character of Slaine mac Roth, a Celtic barbarian warrior king who along with his axe Brainbiter and his ability to warp spasm in order to defend his people against the dark druid Slough Feg, to life in 1983 in his graphic novel series titled Slaine. Learn more here. <http://highmayhem.org/event-details/fall-series-night-2-2/> In 2012 the next adaptation of the story began in Albuquerque New Mexico when three friends took their love of the story and combined it with their passion of music and created the three piece cosplay stoner rock or as they call it, “Ancient Celtic inspired stoner rock, legends and lore, of love and war!!!”, musical interruption appropriately named, The Horned God.The Horned God consist of three members, Dominic on vocals and guitar, Robson on bass and Tim on drums. This one of a kind dynamic three piece bring the story of Slaine to life with lyrical dialog and narratives ripped from the pages of the book accompanied by full costume and projected comic book cells throughout the entire performance. The Horned God attribute their musical influences to bands such as Kyuss, Fu Manchu, Dozer, Mark Lanegan and a little touch of Nomeansno. You can hear these influences in their music as well as classic rock gods in their own right, Black Sabbath. The Horned God is three seasoned, talented musicians who just want to make amazing music and have fun doing it. They bring to the local scene not just a show but an experience unlike all others with the musical talent to back it. The saga continues for Slaine and The Horned God! Some say the band still disturbs as long and deep as ever. Others say that time has aged the band long enough for a fine balance between invitation and confrontation to take hold. No matter who said what and when, one thing remains clear: making things for the sole sake of making things has by no means gone the way of the two-headed lamb. [image: disasterman] *We Drew Lightning* <http://wedrewlightning.com/> Michael Smith and Roland Ostheim have been creating music together since 2002 starting with the band Derail. After some changes in lineup, the band pursued its lush sound and started recording “Swimming With Orange” in 2006-07 on High Mayhem Records. Throughout the recording session there was a need to change identities to progress into a new existence. During one of the recordings sessions the studio was struck with lightning during a take on one of the bands integral songs, and We Drew Lightning was born.Recently, with the addition of the amazing Aaron Jenks on keyboards, We Drew Lightning is expanding its sound to a new level.Loud, Sensual, Engaging are all words that could describe their sound. We Drew Lightning is a trio of Ruthless Sweethearts that attack with a wall of sound, but bring you back down to earth only to propel you again to another planet.
