There has been a suspected pesticide bee kill affecting 2 bee colonies in the area of Alta Vista between Galisteo St.and St. Francis. When I called to report the issue I was unable to reach anyone probably because it’s a holiday. Anyone who suspects they have a pesticide kill can report to Steve Baca at the NM Dept. of Ag Steve Baca 575-339-5026 sbaca@nmda.nmsu.edu <mailto:sbaca@nmda.nmsu.edu> nmda.nmsu.edu/pesticides <http://nmda.nmsu.edu/pesticides> Here’s a helpful article: https://www.beverlybees.com/honey-bee-pesticide-kill/ <https://www.beverlybees.com/honey-bee-pesticide-kill/> Beekeepers can register their colonies at Driftwatch to help pesticide applicators manage drift effects (however it is voluntary). https://nm.driftwatch.org/map nm.driftwatch.org <http://nm.driftwatch.org/> or bee check.org nm.beecheck.org/signup#beekeeper We will be discussing this at the next Zoom meeting Thanks, Kate
