Hello, I am a recent addition to your club and this is my first entry. I have been looking for an organization whose focus is bee keeping as I am a novice with much to learn.
This past year I had the opportunity to watch over a hive of bees a friend and local beekeeper from Stanley, NM put in my garden. I have a four acre garden that is quite diverse. The bees were a joy to live with and I always want them to be a part of my life. Over the spring and summer of this year I lost my fear of bee stings, bought a spiffy bee suit to help me with that fear and have spent hours reading about bees and watching Frederick Dunn on Utube. Bees have become my passion.
Now I need more local input and am thrilled to learn of the upcoming meeting on November 13th, at 6:30pm. Could you please tell me where you will be meeting?
Sincerely, Monika Parker

Thanks Judith!
I'm very excited that everyone is moving over. The yahoo system was terribly awkward and broken (from my experience, anyways). It will only continue to get worse. The new mailing list is implemented using a Free Software (https://www.fsf.org/about/what-is-free-software <https://www.fsf.org/about/what-is-free-software>) project called Mailman (https://www.gnu.org/software/mailman <https://www.gnu.org/software/mailman>). It is very robust, easy to use and gives us full control over the system. The website (https://sdcbeeks.org <https://sdcbeeks.org/>) is also built with Free Software, a project called Wordpress. All standards based, future proof and solid systems. A good foundation to build on.
I'll try and make it to the meeting (November 13th at 6:30)
Jason

Thank you for setting up this website and email community. I found the yahoo chatroom awkward to negotiate.
