Early this morning there was a CenturyLink nation wide outage. Service started restoring around ~8:00 am. Although not everyone has come back up yet. Hopefully this will save you some time if you were calling your ISP to see what was wrong. This sub-reddit has been really handy for having information on outages of this scale.
