Hi all, This is more of a help call and is certainly not specific to GnuLinux but I know many of you are brainiacs and probably have a simple answer. I use Thunderbird, happily. However I've been getting more and more spam emails sent to me from my address. I can block these but I'm concerned there's more to this than meets the eye. Have I been hacked? I hope you all are surviving the fires and other catastrophes that are being visited upon us. Thanks --
Brian, I have heard same from another friend. I suggested he occasionally use browser to log in directly to the email address and mark "spam" there so that the ISP eliminates some of the spam for him. The "Junk" setting in T-bird seems a little slow to learn or modern spam is now evading its algorithm. Just a thought, Ted P. PS., good to hear from you. Hope all is well. If I may add my 2 cents and just wanted to say that I agree with Brian and especially in my case since I have multiple MS email addresses. Once I marked emails as phishing through the web portal, I receive very little spam any more in my inbox. Also if your email program doesn’t sync the settings to other devices you may also use for the same address, you can block it on one device but it won’t be blocked on the other unless you repeat those steps there as well. With the web interface you cover them all in most cases. Thanks Ted and I hope you're okay too. The issue with your idea is that I would be blacklisting my own address. Cybermesa says they'll help, eventually. Still standing upright! Hope you are all doing the same. Brian On 6/2/22 01:38PM, Ted Pomeroy wrote:
