I created a room called nmglug on matrix, and sent invites to the individual email addresses who have posted here recently. Feel free to join. The web client is OK if you don't have another client yet. That way we can see how we feel about it.
PS: I should warn you that the modern federated approaches have a cumbersome sign-up procedure - they have this way of accepting your account on other servers that is clever, but involves a bit more setup than the old days. Mark Galassi <mark@galassi.org> writes:

The confirmation link it emailed me failed the first time and I had to visit that link a second time before it completed my registration and let me join. But it worked okay after that. Mark Galassi writes:

NMGLUGers, OK, so I guess I am registered at Element, too. So maybe I will see what's going in both meetups and figure out where we might be. Jitsi was simple and it is on the website, so we will have to see which suits the group and does not eliminate participation arbitrarily. Thank you, Ted P. Hey, let me clarify: jitsi is how we meet in videocon. matrix is just for online chat. not for videocon. I created a second room called nmglug-room because the first one was created with their annoying security "thing". I have invited anyone who has posted to nmglug recently; email me if you want an invite, and maybe at some point we can also add the whole list.
