I don't think Warehouse21 is a viable meeting place any more, with all their network issues. Shall we meet instead at Violet Crown this evening?

They are certainly doing poorly from many points of view. I'm going to have my course at the downtown library the next couple of times to see how well that works out.
NMGLugers, Yes to Violet Crown for tonight's meeting. We do need a better venue. A cafe is desirable, but it could be a different kind of space. Let's see how it goes tonight and see what we can come up with int he long run. Thank you, Ted P. On 2/1/18, Mark Galassi <mark@galassi.org> wrote:

Yes! W21 is terrible. Lets move along. If anyone has other suggestions of places to meet, lets explore them. For now, I'll see y'all at Violet Crown. On 02/01/2018 01:40 PM, Geoff Chesshire wrote:

In the past I had suggested the makerspace (off Siler), which would provide ample outlets, wireless, desk space, and nerdiness/community enthusiasm, but as Mark has pointed out to me, it is less centrally located. There is also the New Baking Company for tradition's sake, but I cannot evaluate it as I have not been there since the reopen. Wherever we meet, in two weeks anyone wanna help me get FireOS off a workshop-donated tablet and something more freedom-friendly and less advertising- and surveillance-ridden swapped out? If it works out I may be able to help the other workshop members out, nobody likes the intrusive ads. —Arlo
The New Baking Co. is great tho not as dirtily Goth as the EF Baking Co. was (tho chances of food poisoning are greatly reduced.) No real designated areas thou unless one considers the single corner in the area or the area to the right of the entry, as it was. It's all one level, all spiffy and clean. The new owners, the great guys who always did all the hard work, are bustin' ass and it is gaining the kind of patronage as it had before closing and I know they'd love nmglug to come in and spend time, buy a meal or pastry. The food is better for sure and the staff exuberantly friendly. Brian On 02/02/2018 03:52 PM, Arlo Barnes wrote:
