programming course this coming weekend - any help and/or laptops?
Dear nmglugers, This weekend I'm teaching my "serious programming for kids" course again. This is a course where the kids have to bring an old laptop and we start by having them install a GNU/Linux distribution. I wonder if the nmglug community could help me with some things: * Making sure the network at Warehouse 21 is OK. This is both for my Thursday 6:15pm class upstairs, and for my weekend class downstairs. * Anyone want to come and assist with the installfest on Saturday July 8 morning at 10am? If there is one nmgluger that really helps. * Does anyone have old laptops? The kids are supposed to pester their grandparents for old laptops, but I like to keep a batch of loaners available in case kids cannot find them. Anything with 2gig or more is good. More info is at: https://sites.google.com/site/santafecoding/
Mark, Hope the weekend went well for your class. How young can a student be? I have friends whose son is 12 but really into gaming and hacking at it as well. Are you doing another class this summer? Regards, Satsangat On Mon, Jul 3, 2017 at 12:18 AM, Mark Galassi <mark@galassi.org> wrote:
