Hello Everyone, I’m reaching out on behalf of the End of 10 campaign, a community project from an enthusiastic group of free and open source software communities and repair café initiatives. Our goal is to help Windows 10 users keep using their current machines even after Windows 10 support ends on October 14th this year. How? By installing Linux. We’re building a growing network of local repair cafés, Linux User Groups, independent computer shops, community events, and more from all over the world that want to help people make the switch. We already have over 100 places and events in dozens of countries listed on our website. Microsoft is nudging users to replace perfectly functional hardware, but most machines still have plenty of life left. With a modern Linux distribution and a bit of guidance, anyone can keep their computer fast, secure, and out of the landfill. This is more than just a tech issue — it’s an environmental one, too. When support ends, up to 250 million devices could become e-waste, just because of software. That’s a staggering amount of waste we can help prevent simply by helping people switch to free and open source software.
