High Mayhem - March 26 - Tartufi and esthom
High Mayhem Emerging Arts 2811 Siler Lane Santa Fe, NM 87505 www.highmayhem.org *Friday, March 26 at 8pm* *Tartufi and esthom **** Suggested $10 donation at the door* *Tartufi (San Francisco)* Formed in 2001, San Francisco's TARTUFI released three albums as a power-pop trio, Westward Onward (Thread Records- 2002), So We Are Alive (Thread Records - 2004), and Trouble (Acuarela - 2005), and garnered heaps of press and “Best of…”s before members Lynne Angel and Brian Gorman decided switch gears and head in a new direction. In 2006, having just played a South by Southwest showcase and with an album at #75 on CMJ charts, the now duo had much to prove and an eager desire to fulfill their like-minded sonic vision. Ditching their previous material and hitting the studio armed with bigger amplifiers and modified loop stations; Angel and Gorman began developing their new sound. In 3 months time, the reinvented band had written and recorded Us Upon Buildings Upon Us (2006- Thread Records) with the help of Tim Green (Joanna Newsom, Melvins, Monotonix) in the engineer's seat. www.myspace.com/tartufi [image: http://highmayhem.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/tartufi_small.jpg] *esthom (Santa Fe)* esthom is a collaboration of Roland Ostheim and Vadi Grontis. They produce sounds and visuals with angelic overtones, with the clanging reds, blues, yellows and other hues over bottles and cans. They use circuits, strings, brass, and vibrations in this artistic exploration/love collaboration. They are actively involved with 7ate9, We Drew Lightning and Simulate Sensual. www.myspace.com/esthom [image: http://highmayhem.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/esthom_small.jpg] For more information on these events and upcoming events, please visit www.highmayhem.org
