Luke Carr

Luke Carr is releasing Pigrow, his debut solo album. Pigrow is an eighteen minute mini-epic, exposing for the first time the multi-instrumentalist on guitar, bass, drums and voice.  Carr’s previous project, Pitch & Bark, gained attention from John Dieterich, guitarist of the band Deerhoof, who co-produced, engineered, mixed and mastered Pigrow along with Carr.  Dieterich also plays guitar and synthesizer on two of the album’s tracks.

Mostly an acoustic effort, Pigrow takes the listener through a series of arcs, beginning with minimal guitar and voice sections which expand into full rock motifs, all the while accurately reflecting Carr’s one-man-band live show, in which he loops live instruments to create his own full rock sound.

We Drew Lightning

GLITCH is the second full length release by We Drew Lightning.  Founding members, Roland Ostheim (vocals, guitars, electronics) and Michael Smith (drums, electronics, saw, vocals) present 12 new tracks in their diverse catalog of songs.  The new album continues on expanding the bands sound further in dynamics and sonic experiences. The bones of the album were recorded at High Mayhem Studios in the fall of 2011 and early 2012, and finished in the bands own studio and rehearsal space, Ruthless Sweetheart Studio in winter 2012.

We Drew Lightning is also very excited to announce a new addition to the band, Aaron Jenks (keyboards), who recorded on 4 of the tracks on GLITCH, and adds a whole new dimension to the We Drew Lightning live sound!  Other musicians also appearing on the album are Carlos Santistevan, Lily Taylor, and Joan Yatsevitch.

The album is available on CD’s, download cards, and online (bandcamp, cd baby, itunes).

Author & Punisher

Author & Punisher is an industrial doom and drone metal, one man band utilizingprimarily custom fabricated machines/controllers and speakers.  He has performed and shown these machines in festivals and exhibitions in the United States and abroad extensively, releasing his third album, yet first sculpture/art based album entitled “Drone Machines” in 2010 on Heart & Crossbone Recordsout of Tel-Aviv.  His new record, focused primarily on the newer Dub Machines, entitled “Ursus Americanus”, was released April 24th, 2012 onSeventh Rule Recordings and was listed as one of Decibel Magazine’s top 40 metal albums of 2012. His new LP “Women & Children” will be released in April of 2013. Drone/Dub Machines are custom made machines fabricated from raw materials and utilizing open source circuitry. The devices draw heavily on aspects of industrial automation, robotics and mechanical tools and devices, focusing on the eroticism of interaction with machine.  The machines require significant force from the performer, aligning he or she with the plodding drone and doom influenced sounds that are created. Alongside fabricating machines and composing sound for performance,

Tristan works at the National Center for Microscopy and Imaging Research (http://ncmir.ucsd.edu) as a mechanical engineer and the Center for Research and Computing in the Arts (http://crca.ucsd.edu) at the University of California, San Diego as a researcher in sound interface design.
