Our next pollinator lecture series (with the ABQ BioPark) will be online on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 3 pm. We are excited to share the work of our new postdoc for this session:
Join Dr. Ge Zhang, postdoctoral researcher at New Mexico State University, to learn about his work with honey bees in the Midwest and New Mexico. His talk will cover using a conservation practice with native plants (prairie strips incorporated in cropland) to enhance honey bee health in the Midwest and current and future studies of the bee research team at the NMSU Los Lunas Agricultural Science Center. Our current study is determining the survivorship of fall nucleus of small population size and normal colonies of big size during the winter in a New Mexico desert climate. Future studies will explore the use of flower species by honey bees in NM and integrated pest management (IPM) for Varroa mite in NM.

We hope to see you there!
